e-BLS in the news
10 January 2011
The 20 December 2010 issue of the Taranaki Daily News included a feature article about e-Blended Learning Solutions.
The article was part of the newspaper’s series on organisations that achieved success at the 2010 Westpac Taranaki Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, where e-BLS won the brand, marketing, design and technology category.
e-BLS business development manager Sarah Brosnan talked about how e-BLS can solve training dilemmas faced by many modern businesses. These dilemmas can include such decisions as whether to employ a fulltime trainer or fly staff to courses in other cities.
As Sarah explained, because most of e-BLS’ products are designed to be used online they enable clients to achieve real efficiencies in delivering training. She gave an example of a client who has been able to reduce overheads, including travel and accommodation, when e-BLS worked with them to put their training resources online. Staff can now learn at their workstations, taking as little as 30 minutes per session.
e-BLS general manager, Nick Zieltjes, spoke of the increasing importance of e-learning now that all younger staff in almost every work environment are what are known as ‘digital natives’.
Sarah, however, stressed that e-BLS will always promote a blend of traditional and online training, as there will always be a need for a face-to-face component.
