Higher Education Conference
25 March 2011
On 9 and 10 March, 2011, e-BLS attended the Higher Education conference held in Auckland. The conference was aimed at wānanga, private training establishments, industry training organisations and universities.
e-BLS had a booth at the conference where we showcased our new branding and marketing materials. The booth attracted a great deal of attention from delegates who commented positively on its interactive and innovative displays.
Anton Pienaar, e-BLS Resource Development manager, also delivered a short presentation entitled, 'Has Education Changed?' This started with a video showing that essentially, today's classrooms are relatively unchanged from those of 100 years ago, even though technological developments have made other aspects of our world unrecognisable.
The question 'Has education really changed?' caused delegates to sit up and reflect. Anton told the conference that technology has influenced much of our modern world. e-BLS believes there is huge scope for technology to improve student engagement and, as a result, add value to our education system. From interactive teaching tools in the classroom to mobile applications in a commercial environment, e-BLS is developing resources that are shaping the way that end users learn. We are in an excellent position to provide learning solutions for higher education providers.
From e-BLS's point of view, this was a hugely successful and rewarding two-day event. We will be attending similar events in the future to expose our brand to this particular market, and also to gauge market trends and what products e-BLS should be developing.
The next conference we are going to is the Retail Australasia Summit and Expo to be held in Auckland on 24 and 25 May. Watch this space for our next instalment.
